Over 4 million people in Canada struggle to access the food they need. According to the Daily Bread Food Bank, Canada's largest, the average food bank user has $7.83 per day after rent to cover cost of living. People who live with food insecurity are being profoundly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and food security organizations are struggling to meet rising needs.

The world has made major sacrifices in a great effort to stop the spread of this deadly virus. Educators and students have shifted to online learning to stay home, major industries have been greatly impacted, while small businesses and entrepreneurs have closed their doors to do their part and stop the spread.

Food Safety During the Pandemic

There’s a lot of focus right now on our North American food supply during this pandemic. Understandably, some questions have come up about food safety and I am happy to say that though our food supply may be challenged by this pandemic, our food supply is safe.
