Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for providing system protection and network defense focused on ensuring data integrity and network availability. Other responsibilities include implementing and executing; computer network defense(s), device hardening, vulnerability assessments, and cybersecurity documentation; day to day monitoring, analysis, and response to SIEM alerts, AV/EDR events, and host-based security events. This role requires a hands-on background in configuring, implementing, managing, and monitoring a wide range of IT security solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor, identify, investigate, report, and mitigate cyber security threats and risks
Review vulnerability scans and collaborate with other IT operational teams to resolve
Assist in creating, reviewing, and maintaining security-related documents such as policies, procedures, device configuration baselines and response playbooks
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks/threat vectors
Contribute to building a cyber aware culture via the development and delivery of end-user training
Assist with conducting various information security and compliance assessments
Recommend additional security solutions, controls, or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security
Participate in the deployment and integration of all new security solutions
Experience, Education and Designations:
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or other IT-related field of study
Industry certification such as SSCP, GSEC and CySA+, Blue Team Level 1 or ISACA CSX required
2-3 years of experience working in a Cyber Security-related role
Experience working with and monitoring Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Single Sign On (SSO), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
Experience with managing security vendors and appliances
