We’re growing rapidly and require a Cloud Accountant to keep our clients happy by walking them through the on-boarding process, training them on the cloud accounting software packages we use, and providing on-going accounting and systems support.
The successful applicant will be responsible for facilitating training meetings on Skype and will be the clients’ point of contact on our helpdesk. The applicant will liaise with the Director of Tech to ensure the systems run smoothly and the CloudCA Manager to ensure proper and tax efficient record keeping. Business development activities such as article writing or managing new clients may also be required.
As an ideal candidate, you have the following skills/experience/attributes:
You’re interested in pursuing an accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA)
You've done a few accounting courses in university (whether you enjoyed them, we won't ask) and have a business background
You can talk to a client about their finances simply and clearly
You can take books that are a mess and turn them into something useful
You enjoy learning and trying out new software/technologies - basically, you're tech-savvy.
You like solving people's problems and supporting them through the process
You’re familiar with (or want to quickly become familiar with) cloud accounting software such as Xero/Kashoo/Wave/Quickbooks Online
You own a phone that handles email & skype (yes, you may get emails from clients at weird hours).
Ability to work at home
- Public accounting and tax experience is a plus ie. working with financial statements, T1/T2/T3 tax returns, account reconciliations, GST/HST returns, payroll, review and audit engagements
We can’t stress enough how important timely client service is. As such, we’re not your traditional 9-5 job and expect you to be accessible, wherever you’ll be.
At the same time, you’ll be free to work within your own schedule - wherever, whenever - so long as the work gets done. With no in-office face-time and the responsibility of dealing directly with the client, we’re going to really need to trust you - which is why we’ve built-in a 3 month probationary period.
