The Trane Graduate Training Programs – Sales Engineering (GTP) is designed to prepare Engineers for a rewarding career in Technical Sales and Energy Services. The program is geared toward developing Sales Engineers to sell Trane's complex Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) products and Building Automation Systems (Controls) to commercial and industrial customers. Upon completion of the Graduate Training Program, you will assume responsibilities of an Account Manager for Equipment, Services or Building Automation Systems in your pre-assigned location.
Started in 1926 and recognized as the industry's most comprehensive training program, the GTP provides you with intensive technical, business, sales and leadership training, with an emphasis on maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards. As a participant, you will attend lectures and technical presentations, as well as hear about 'real world' projects from visiting Trane sales engineers, managers and customers, and complete challenging homework assignments including individual and team projects.
Key Elements of our graduate training program include:
- Understanding of Ingersoll Rand and Trane’s history and values
- Learning about the fundamentals of Heat Exchange and Transfer, Building Automation Systems, along with the diverse application of our product including sizing and estimating systems and technology to meet customer specifications
- Learning key sales processes and tools to include channel, account, and market development along with core selling skills and effective methodologies
- Learning about the Environmental and Energy factors associated with developing HVAC and Building Automation Systems recommendations to meet customer specifications
- Access to and network with Trane’s senior sales leaders
- Develop your sales leadership and influence skills through teamwork and project management
As a Sales Engineer you work with Engineers, Architects, Contractors and owners/developers in the design, application and sale of systems, controls, parts and services for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. These systems will include the world's most complete line of commercial, industrial and institutional Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment and Building Management Controls.
Qualified candidates will have obtained or are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering, Information Technology Systems, technical programming, or related technical field, possess solid teamwork skills and demonstrate confidence in their presentation and written communication skills.
Successful Sales Engineers are goal oriented, highly motivated to represent industry leading products in the market place and possesses a strong desire to sell.
