Rich environments and cultures allow NWCC to offer almost unlimited educational opportunities and recognized certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees. NWCC is a recognized leader in Aboriginal education. Aboriginals comprise roughly 30 percent of the region’s population — the highest among all BC college regions. At NWCC, Aboriginals make up roughly 40 per cent of the student body. This success is attributed to the College’s inclusive teaching practices and world views.
The College’s programs and courses respond to the changing needs of learners, delivering skills and knowledge necessary in today’s competitive and complex job market. NWCC offers college access programs; health and human services programs; online programs; university credit programs, trades foundation and apprenticeship programs; plus the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art, The School of Exploration & Mining, The School of Marine & Coastal Studies and The School of Northwest Culinary Arts.
