About the Case Competition

If you’re an analytical and critical thinker, with an ability spotting trouble before it happens, than this case competition is for you! TalentEgg, Career Connections and the Insurance Institute are hosting a case competition focused on ethics, risk management, and today’s game changers in the world of business (e.g. climate change, cyber security, autonomous vehicles, and the sharing economy). You do not need to have insurance knowledge or experience to participate. This is a chance for you to showcase your skills to top insurance employers while working and presenting your solution to a real-world problem!

Here's how it works in 3 easy steps

The case competition is open to post-secondary students or recent grads in teams of 2 – 3 people.

Step 1

Each team member will register by uploading their resume and a 30-second to 1-minute video introduction to their TalentEgg profile. This will give us a sense of your personality, skills, education, and experience to date. You can create your TalentEgg profile by registering for free. If you’re already a TalentEgg user, then log into your account and update your profile with a recorded video introduction and your current resume.

IN ORDER TO QUALIFY YOU MUST INCLUDE THE HASHTAG #CASECOMP2020 in the keyword section of your profile so we can find you!

Step 2

The week leading up to the live finals, the case will be given to your team via e-mail. You will have 3 days (over a weekend) to put together a 2-page summary and a slide deck of your proposed solution. Don’t worry, you DO NOT need to have extensive insurance industry knowledge or experience to excel with this case. Make sure your summary includes the names of all of the team members.

Step 3

Your submission will be evaluated by an esteemed panel of insurance industry professionals, and the top 5 teams will be invited to share their solution with industry leaders during the Virtual Live Round on November 27th. The presentation will be a maximum of 10 minutes followed by a 5 minute Q&A with the judging panel.

Your resume and video introduction will be shared with leading insurance industry employers, and it will be available to all TalentEgg employer partners who access the Candidate Video Showcase platform.
